Nithi Subramaniam

Nithi Subramaniam is a practitioner of Ayurveda, who comes from a long line of Ayurvedic practitioners spanning several generations.

Nithi was born in Sri Lanka, and spent his formative years in an ashram, as a monk. Personally taught and attended to by his father and grandfather, he is immensely grateful to them for having shared their knowledge of the Ayurveda with him. To that extent, he considers his current practice a continuation of the family art.

Nithi's founding of an Ayurvedic treatment centre in Langkawi came about rather unexpectedly: "I had come to Langkawi, and it felt like a rather nice place to live; it felt just like Sri Lanka -- so I thought, hey, it'd be quite nice to stay here," he says, with a smile.

Initially, his practice was home-based, and many of his clients were return clients. The practice grew, mostly by word of mouth. Then, at one point, Nithi decided to take some time off, to venture into the Himalayas to seek spiritual contentment. And upon his return, he decided to devote himself to his practice, as a full-time professional.

His establishment has been growing steadily for the past 6 years, and he currently employs 8 other therapists, all of whom are family members, to assist him with his practice.

Nithi loves animals, and cats, in particular. In his spare time, he enjoys yoga exercises, marma and salambam martial arts, meditation, and nature. He enjoys doing massages, and is happy to be able to channel his passion into a medium that is both hobby and work at the same time.
